Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of VocalScroll at vocalscroll.com, the installed web app, and the Android app. By using VocalScroll you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use it.

1. What VocalScroll is

VocalScroll is a voice-activated teleprompter. You paste a script, and the app scrolls it as you read aloud. It can also record your camera and microphone to your own device. VocalScroll is free to use and has no accounts. VocalScroll sets no limit on script length, but your browser's storage does.

2. Your content

  • Your scripts, voice, and recordings stay on your device. VocalScroll does not upload them, and Onitsoga Labs does not receive them. You keep all rights in what you write and record, and Onitsoga Labs claims none.
  • If you send a message through the contact form, we use it to answer you. The privacy policy explains what happens to it.
  • You are responsible for what you write and record, and for having the right to use it.
  • Recordings and drafts are stored in your browser. Clearing browser data or using Delete and reset in Settings removes them, and we cannot recover them. Export what you want to keep.

3. Acceptable use

Do not use VocalScroll to break the law, to record people without the consent the law requires, or to harm others. Do not try to disrupt the service, reverse engineer it beyond what the law allows, or copy it as your own product. The source code, design and content of VocalScroll are the property of Onitsoga Labs, all rights reserved, and are not licensed for copying, modification or redistribution without written permission. Third-party components keep their own licenses.

4. Third-party components

VocalScroll uses open-source and third-party components, including Vosk-Browser, Phosphor Icons, Capacitor, Pirsch Analytics, and two OFL-licensed fonts. Their notices and license texts are in the licenses file and in the app under Settings, About, Credits. The privacy policy lists the network requests the app makes.

5. Availability and changes

To the extent the law allows, VocalScroll is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. Speech recognition can make mistakes, and the app may be unavailable or change at any time. We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and using VocalScroll after a change means you accept it.

6. Liability

To the extent the law allows, Onitsoga Labs is not liable for lost data, lost recordings, missed takes, or other indirect damages from using VocalScroll. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

VocalScroll does not host or publish anyone's scripts or recordings, so there is no user content on our servers to remove. If you believe the site itself, or something we publish on it, infringes your rights, use the contact page and say what and where.
